How long can this take? 15 minutes and running for my colleagues. I shit you not. I sit here listening to the people chatting in Salem and I can only shake my head. How in this world could you have possibly reformated the entire sheet while trying to carry out the above task?

Nice! Thanks for bringing us the click-by-click action.

So contract gains are not won on the streets, and this would seem to jibe with the position put forward by some at the training last winter, that there is no relationship between membership levels and bargaining strength. I guess all we really need is a good lawyer and we can stop fucking around with all this other business.

Also, I don't think that being in favor of fewer salary steps is the same as being against seniority. The fewer steps you have, the sooner you get people to the top level, at their highest rate, and the more is contributed into their pension. There are other ways to respect seniority (job bidding, displacement, vacation accrual, etc.).

I think there were K-12 people involved in this training as well. Have you seen some of the K-12 contracts with 20+ steps? If I was in that position I'd certainly want to shorten the process up.

Dude - why are you going through this ordeal?

I hope you are at least drinking one of the PBRs from the fridge.
