Tears of Our Fathers

In many parts of the US, there exist places where science is scorned and creation myths about apples, serpents, and benevolent Beings who think everything is "good" hold sway. In many of these townships, parents teach their children that the rain is really George Washington's tears and thunder is Thomas Jefferson farting. You and I know better. Rain is, of course, the result of global warming, and thunder is Father Nature burping after gorging himself on elderberries.

Letter-to-the-editor writer Richard Welch still believes in the tears of the Fathers. He is also an idiot. After ranting about a proposed gas tax increase, he winds up with sheer poetry.

King George would love what has happened to this country. To think of all the men, women and children who have died to come to America, where taxes were never to be like it is today.

Our forefathers must be crying in heaven.
